"Absolutely fantastic!"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had a c-section on 08/05/09. I am a terrible patient and despise hospitals normally. The staff that dealt with me on this day, in theatre, the High Dependency Unit and Norfolk ward changed all this. They made me feel so comfortable and kept me informed of everything, they were great and for this I will be grateful for a long time!

The staff that dealt with me in theatre were absolutely fantastic, they kept me calm(ish!) and when I did once they gave me the reassurance I needed. The lady that gave me my anaesthetic was second to none. She sensed I was panicking and she clamed me down, not an easy task!

When my little boy was safely delivered they took me to the High Dependency Unit where all the staff were lovely, and even though I was grouchy, morphined up and probably not the easiest patient due to number of reasons they treated me to the highest standard of medical care. I was then moved onto the Norfolk ward where I stayed for three days, the midwives, cleaners, kitchen staff and other nurses were so nice, I could have stayed, not bad for someone who hates hospitals!

My only regret is I cannot remember the names of the people who dealt with me so they can be given the recognition they rightly deserve. I give them my thanks.
