"My wonderful physiotherapist"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

I received outstanding treatment and care over several months from my physiotherapist, after suffering a fracture/dislocation of my left shoulder in June 2014. My physiotherapist friendly and welcoming from the outset, whilst also being thoroughly professional. I found her very knowledgeable and always ready with a suggestion as to how I might proceed. I much appreciated the fact that diagrams of the exercises suggested were given to me at the end of each appointment. My physiotherapist also always sent me away with words of encouragement. Since I found that some of the shoulder stretches I was performing were giving me a stiff lower back, I was grateful for suggested exercises for this region as well, which, as well as alleviating the problem, will I am sure stand me in good stead of the future, as will many of the others routines. At my final session, she suggested a series of shoulder stretches and light weights strengthening exercises which I am to perform on an on-going basis. As a result of her efforts, I have made a more or less full recovery, which, since I am 67 years of age, and without exaggerating I feel is nothing short of a minor miracle. I can't imagine where I would be without this course of treatment. I thought the atmosphere in the whole Clinic was welcoming. One young man teased me on one occasion, which I enjoyed. My only regret is that I didn't get to use the gym very much - but then perhaps I gave the game away by bringing my tent along with me for one appointment!
