Having spent over twenty four hours earlier this week at Lancaster Centenary building experiencing surgery to remove nasal polyps, my total experience of the event are overwhelmingly positive. Only one small issue at the point of discharge clouded my stay. On the positive side, the surgical procedure was exceptional, beyond any other similar operation I have previously experienced in regard to polyp removal. I was asked for information which was taken on board by both surgeon and anaesthetist. My recovery, once awake, was instant and without pain or discomfort. Ward care was efficient and caring. I thank all of the staff for their attention despite their obvious workload. Just the one niggle regarding transport. Because of a late discharge I asked for transport home having earlier established that I was eligible. To have to then discuss this issue in order to gain consent was, at this late moment, unnecessarily awkward. Transport was provided only after further communication between nurse and admin. A small problem which could have been avoided had the issue been assessed and determined pre- op. However I have nothing but praise for the operation staff and procedure and would not hesitate to return if and when necessary. Many thanks to all involved.
