"If you've been referred by NHS, ask to be referred..."

About: Pinehill Hospital

Saw a lovely chap there about a knee injury. He referred me to a colleague so I duly hobbled over to make the appointment. The receptionist gave me a dirty look announcing "oh they won't see NHS". Was unable to make offered appointment and weeks later have given up on the hope of actually getting to see someone. This contract needs reviewing as I now have to go and waste more gp time to actually get seen..

We are very sorry to hear that Mrs Ashwell Carter has not had a good experience at the hospital and will be contacting her to see how we can put things right. Our records indicate that she cancelled her appointment and that we were waiting for her to call to rearrange. Her comments above indicate that she has been waiting for the hospital to contact her instead. We would always prefer that patients contact us directly if there is a problem as we normally find that there is a simple explanation and solution. Pinehill treats over 50,000 patients a year and has very high satisfaction levels (over 92% rated the hospital as very good or excellent). We are very proud of these levels and are very sorry when we fail to meet expectations.
