I arrived at the jubilee centre for my operation, full of hope that my pain would finally be at an end when my wisdom teeth were removed. I had neither eaten nor drunk since 7.30am as instructed. I waited from 12 until 5 in a reception area for my name to be called, the hours went slowly as the room was freezing cold and most people waiting for relatives were eating and drinking infront of me. The nurse called my name and took me to get changed into a gown. I then sat alone for 45 minutes in a side room. When the surgeon arrived, he told me they could not perform my surgery because it was after 5pm. I was devastated and had to leave the hospital with the promise that I would get another appointment in the next 8 weeks. Not much of a consolation.
"poor decision making"
