"Outstanding care"

I have just had a laparoscopy procedure at this Hospital. It is the first time I have required treatment here, usually I recieve treatment at North Tees. The care that I recieved from each staff member I came into contact with at Hartlepool hospital was outstanding. From the receptionist of the Access Lounge who welcomed me and put me at ease immediately to the theatre staff who reassured me when I was feeling nervous about the anaesthetic. The Access Lounge itself was run so smoothly, within minutes of my arrival I was seen to. It was clear everybody knew what part they had to play in the procedures of the Access Lounge. Every body I met that day were friendly, professional, caring and compassionate. Ward 4 is where I went to recover after my procedure. The health care assistant who escorted me from the recovery room was amazing, put me at ease straight away, made it clear what was going to happen once I reached the ward and made me numerous cups of tea! The staff nurses on duty were clear in their explanation of what was expected of me upon discharge, they were knowledgable when answering my questions and were so lovely in their nature. In the current climate of poor reports of NHS care, I felt it very important to highlight the outstanding care I received at Hartlepool Hospital. What stood out to me was that everybody working that day appeared happy in their jobs. Thank you for making my hospital experience a pleasant one!
