"Fantastic care"

Whilst pregnant I had my heart set on being at Samuel Johnson for the birth of my baby. However, due to high blood pressure and signs of pre eclampsia we were told Burton hospital would be a safer place to deliver and that if my blood pressure remained high, Samuel Johnson wouldn't accept me as a patient anyway. Both myself and my partner were really upset about this as we felt we wouldn't get the same care at Burton. We honestly couldn't have been more wrong. I ended up being induced and after a long labour, was rushed in for an emergency c section. With the exception of a couple of grumpy midwives (neither of whom were directly responsible for my care), the staff were absolutely amazing and made a difficult time much more bearable. During labour and my c section, I felt like I was really well looked after and the midwives did everything they could to make me comfortable. The postnatal care I received was wonderful, I was really nervous about my partner leaving (especially since I was struggling to sit up, let alone look after a baby) but the midwives were fantastic and didn't make me feel bad for asking for anything. A massive thank you to everyone who looked after me and my little boy, I would not hesitate to recommend the maternity services to anyone considering where to have their baby.
