"Stroke Care"

About: Good Hope Hospital

Both my wife and I have suffered tia (mini stroke) in the last 5 months and we have been very happy with the care and service we received at Good Hope. My wife was taken ill on Monday 17th November, diagnosed swiftly and admitted to ward 18 AMU within 4 hours. The team on 18 were fantastic and the care wonderful. I had a similar experience in June. Having been a hospital inspector things regarding cleanliness and food provision have come on in leaps and bounds. Bit different to Hallam hospital Sheffield which has gone backwards as regards food. Only gripe is car parking. Okay, you get half hour free buy why does it cost so much for a couple of hours.

Dear Mr Shepherd

Many thanks for taking the time to post your feedback & I will pass on your comments to our Stroke Team.

With regard to car parking we are planning to increase the number of spaces next year & do offer discounted rates for regular hospital attenders. Apologies if the latter wasn't explained to you or your family - in fairness, & having read other posts regarding this, I'm not sure we've properly briefed our teams so this is one for me to pick up.

Regards

Richard
