"The best hospital I have been in"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I have used this hospital all my life but a lot in the past 3 years and I have to say it is the best hospital I have been in they do every single check possible to rule a load of things out which gives you a great piece of mind!

I never really used a main hospital until January 2008 when after suffering a miscarriage, bleeding for months and hemorrhaging in the car park at this hospital I got helped in by a patient transport ambulance man and I was rushed in and looked after so well and being very scared I needed someone to be nice and they were!

The only fault was there is no gynaecology ward so I had to be referred to wansbeck which I felt was absolute hell but that's another story!

I now suffer with bad GAD after that and if I fall ill I go to north tyneside and instantly feel safe and relaxed!

Dear Madam,

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby and the sad circumstances that brought you in to hospital at that time.

It is very reassuring to know that you have always felt able to rely on the care you have received at North Tyneside and know that you will always be treated with kindness and compassion by our staff. We understand how important this is in helping you to feel safe and relaxed.

I can appreciate how much you wanted to stay at North Tyneside 6 years ago when you sadly suffered a miscarriage, and I'm sorry that this wasn’t possible.

Out of hours, all our emergency patients with gynaecological concerns will attend Wansbeck as this is the site were the medical team are based out of hours and weekends. When the new emergency care hospital opens, this service will transfer to this site.

Learning from patients stories and experiences of care is very important to us and it is never too late for us to do this. If you would be keen to also share your poor experience of care at Wansbeck in 2008 I would be happy to facilitate this.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch.

With best wishes,

Annie
