"The centre helped us develop new skills"

About: Titchfield Children's Centre

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Me and my wife who both work in childcare visited the centre before our twin girls came along. We were looking for support and activities in the local community.

We have made use of numerous activities like baby group, titchy tots, family activities and even dads group.

The opportunity arose for us to be part of the up and coming family group and now play key roles in the local community activities and fundraisers. This is helping us gather skills and perspectives for our work and for our life.

For me, I would like to see the centre open later and weekends to bring in full family including dads.Another thing that hindered our use of the centre is the location, as both centres are a fair distance to walk and for a double buggy this became a troubling task for my wife.

I would like to commend most of the staff at the centre for being friendly and welcoming and supporting us in the areas when asked and also that they are very professional and run a excellent service to the community.

Recently, we have had several successes in our journey as my wife has just got a job and as our parents group has just been established as T. O. F. F (Titchfied and Oakham Family Forum). This is only the start and looks promising for the future.

Thank you for your feedback, it is really helpful when devleoping services. I am pleased to read that you have found the centre useful for yourself and your family and that staff have been welcoming. You have played an active role within the centre which is great news and I'm sure the centre has benefited greatly from this.

I am interested in your comments around the opening hours and the location of the centres and would welcome any further suggestions on how this could be improved for the future. The family forum is a significant part of the centre and I would welcome these discussion to take place at that meeting.

I would also like to congratulate your wife on her new job and say a big thank you for the support that you both offer.
