"Pain Clinic assessment"

I attended the Pain Clinic for my first assessment. I have had some pain treatment before in a different NHS area but done privately. I wasn't happy with that as I felt as if I hadn't been listened to, and that I was pigeonholed into one area of treatment only. The staff was first class. I saw the psychologist, the physiotherapist and the pain specialist and they were all superb. They clearly gel together and combine their specialties to enable them to diagnose the problem and recommend an overall approach to treatment. For the first time in a long time I feel optimistic that my pain problems will be addressed. I travelled out of my area as the specialist came highly recommended and I am glad I did. Sadly, it is too far to travel for treatment, but I am content that I have been diagnosed properly and therefore the treating pain team will know what needs to be done. Thank you!
