I would like to say a big thank you to the staff at Hull Royal Infirmary who looked after me on Sunday 3rd May 2009. I had a severe glass cut to my left thumb and the service I received from beginning to end was exceptional. When I had my accident a paramedic attended my house within 3 minutes, after this an ambulane arrived (of which I politely said I didn't want to "waste" their time as there are more severe patients than me!) and my husband took me to the hospital. On arrival at the Accident and Emergency Dept I was greeted very politely by the Receptionist and within 5 minutes a nurse assessed me. I was then directed down to the X-Ray dept and again with a couple of minutes I was x-rayed. I was then told to wait in the waiting room (of which I expected to wait at least a couple of hours) I was called to see the doctor within 10 minutes who superceded to stitch me up! May I say he has done an excellent job and would like to thank him very much. My wound was then dressed by an assistant who again was very polite and gentle!! After reading bad press in the papers regarding this hospital I cannot express enough how much I was looked after and the excellent care I was given. A Big Thank You To All !!
