Chelsea and Westminster is a hit and miss medical facility. However some departments seem to operate far better than others. And the good ones clearly keep getting good reviews over and over again. The Phlebotomy Department at the Chelsea and Westminster is amazing. I was sent to the blood test unit for multiple tests. As I was waiting for my turn the waiting room was full. But it only took about 10-15 mins before it was my turn. This department is super fast. And incredibly busy. Even when they were so busy, it was clean, welcoming. I have a rather silly apprehension of needles. They seemed well organized and the nurse who took my blood samples was superb. I barely felt anything at all and it was all over with and I was shown out almost before I could register. I've also had good experiences at the physical therapy department, although the hospital needs double the number of therapists (they were always booked full and it was difficult getting an appointment less than 2 months apart). In Europe when people are assigned for physical therapy for back pain, they first access other potential causes (ex tumors) before providing therapy to avoid delays on potentially urgent care. Here in the UK they do it the other way around, which must be costly and risky. But on the good side, it was the physical therapy dept that actually diagnosed my condition after 2 years of no clarity elsewhere. The head of the department sent me for MRI scan and showed me the scans on his computer which showed growths on my kidneys. My bad experiences has been with the MRI dept, A&E, kidney services and ultrasound department.
"Blood Testing (Phlebotomy ) Department is super"
