"Thank you"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

My 91 hear old father in law was treated in wards C4 and B6 for a month before he died. At all times he was treated with kindness and respect. I was in both wards for long periods of time and never observed any of the patients - some of whom were quite difficult - being treated with anything but respect and consideration. The staff were always available to talk to family members and encouraged us to phone if we couldn't come in. My father in law was always clean, shaven and hair combed and as he grew less able to feed himself was helped with this. I expressed my thanks to staff at the time of his death but would like to express my admiration again for people doing a very difficult job with dedication, professionalism and good humour.

I would like to extend sincere condolences for your loss, at a time such as this we are especially grateful for your feedback on your experience of Wards C4 and B6, thank-you for taking the time to do so. I have already made sure your appreciation is passed on to both teams. I am very pleased to hear that your recent experience with us was positive as we always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care. If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this such a good visit for you we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and services.
