About 3 years ago now i attended York district hospital for my 1st (pregnancy) scan.
The nurse left the room and came back with another woman. They both confirmed to me they could not find a heartbeat in my baby.
A few days later i came back to have the remains of my pregnancy taken away. This was very distressing for me and i asked the doctor if i could have another scan to double check that there was no heartbeat before he took away my baby.
He replied: "certainly, of course, anything to put your mind at rest".
The nurse who took me was very snotty, on the way down to the scan she said to me: "I don't know why you need another scan when you've already had the word of two of my collegues".
Her comment will stay with me forever.
