"Ward 19 then ward 16"

About: Leicester General Hospital

WARD 19 - I Wasn't there for long but i was kept updated and spoken to by staff on a regular occasion. This was my first operation and was quite anxious but staff were quick to quell my fears and were very helpful. A very Very good ward. WARD 16- Nothing i can say will justify how much of a brilliant and perfectly ran ward this is, it was an amazing experience. I was looked after really well after my surgery and have never been on a ward that had staff that were so friendly it was perfect. I was constantly checked on and questioned about my pain. My pain was unreal and nothing seemed to help me control it but staff would not stop getting different medication at regular intervals to see what would help. The staff just didn't stop working and were always happy and never once rude or told to wait. This is such a brilliant ward. This should be a model to all wards it was brilliant. Even the senior nursing staff took time out to talk me. The best was the physio staff. They are so funny cracking jokes and making people laugh they are briliant. If you ever have to attend this ward you will be in the right place its down right brillant!!! I must say though the food the outside company provide is down right disgraceful, i wouldn't of dreamed about giving it to my dog let alone a patient in need. Previous food was brilliant but this food is wrong you should be ashamed of yourselves for giving out this food!!

Dear Reviewer Thank you for your kind words about wards 16 and 19. Between them both we’re delighted our staff – particularly the physio staff and senior nurses – were able to put you at ease and look after you so well. They will be so pleased to know they brought a smile to your face. Of course giving the best possible care is always our aim, so it’s fantastic this was reflected in your stay. We’re sorry though that you didn’t enjoy the food. Recently we’ve had some really positive feedback, so we’re disappointed to learn it wasn’t up to scratch. Our catering is provided by Interserve, but we will pass your feedback on. Should you like to contact them, please email llr.csc@interserve.com or call 0116 204 7888. Sincerely Robert Knight Communications Team Leicester’s Hospitals
