"appoling health care"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

Even though the nurses on the ward try there best to help the lack of communication between doctors is appalling. it's as though they're waiting for god to take over and until then the doctors are happy to see events un fold in which case either the patient gets better them self or gets to such a state where they have to intervene to save face. I feel the resources and time wasted waiting for doctors could be avoided if only the doctors communicated with each other and attended the wards when asked by the nurses. Imagine how much money the nhs would save in costs if only the doctors would get there act together. When I confronted the doctor, the only excuse was "not enough doctors " imagine that. Here's one of the things I encountered the junior doctors could not put a cannula in me which I needed so that I can get antibiotics through iv, but after several attempts and 24hours later they sent me down to a senior doctor who then put one in. But to my surprise, until the doctor gets a second opinion, I am still not going to get an i.v, which makes me think of two things either the doctor that put the cannula in wasn't very competent and if a second opinion was nessasary why did they not have someone down there originally. Any way I waited another 6 hours and even then the second doctor was not too sure and is now waiting on a x ray before I am given any thing. In the mean time, my health has deteriorated, and it turns out that the doctor who out in the cannula fitted it incorrectly, and I have to wait till someone to do it again, which the nurse tells me could take 12 more hours. I wish I can ask the boss what they make of all this maybe I can talk to them. I'm not one to curse but in this case I really wish the boss could experience this first hand.
