"my daughters knee replacement"

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had a knee replacement recently and was due to have her first physio,, the nurse came round with the drugs and my daughter asked if she could have them when she came back. when she did come back she asked for them and was told no because the nurse had already signed she had had them, This is a BIG no no, my view is that you must never ever sign until you have seen the patient take them and I believe they were DDA drugs which makes it worse. so now my daughter is sat in agony. I have had to go to a tribunal because one of my staff had done this and lost her job because of it when I was a registered manager. I am aware of the drugs laws as I had to undergo exams on medicines for my RMA and before I could take my degree. I think this is totally out of order and against human rights to be free from pain.
