"Mixed experiences of West Yorkshire Urgent Care"

About: Bradford and Airedale Teaching PCT / Emergency GP out of hours service

(as a relative),

The West Yorkshire Urgent Care phone hangs up after automated voice recording and before connecting to a health professional. The phone is answered by an automated voice recording and before you get to talk to a health professional, the phone tone changes to engaged and it hangs up. I tried contacting WYUC 3 times (one after the other) and on each occasion the same thing happened, phone hangs up. Also, I phoned them day before and the same thing happened.

I finally got through to them. I have to admit they were very professional. I spoke to health professional who told me I will be contacted within an hour by a nurse. The nurse phoned within 10 minutes, well within the hour. The nurse told me I needed to take my daughter to BRI, so that a doctor could see her and that I will be contacted within an hour about the appointment time. Again, I was contacted within in 10 minutes.
