"I didn’t feel it was the right environment for me "

About: Springfield University Hospital

(as the patient),

I’m not very impressed by my treatment at Springfield University Hospital.

I was sectioned after I refused to speak to my care coordinator. This was because the injections they were giving me made me fall asleep throughout the day.

I was initially diagnosed as suffering from bipolar disorder, but I’m not sure this was right. I felt they didn’t really know what to do with me. In the end, I was given shock treatment.

As I have no mobility and I’m unable to walk, the staff did sometimes bring me things to eat. One positive is that the food wasn’t bad.

Overall though I feel those at the hospital shouldn’t be so hasty to judge. I actually felt worse for coming to the hospital and wouldn’t wish this on my enemy.

I didn’t feel it was the right environment for me at the hospital and I didn’t feel safe. I even had personal possessions stolen.

I feel like now I’m finally putting my life back together again after this experience.
