"Still waiting!"

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

I had an appointment on the 21st of October 2014 with a knee specialist in the fracture clinic. He tells me i need a MRI scan to see the full damage extent! Almost 3 weeks (tomorrow will make it 3 weeks) on and i'm still waiting for my appointment letter! I rang last Thursday and i was on hold for a total of 13 minutes. 7 minutes in I was told I was "number 2 in the queue" by an automated answer machine, the remainder time I was on hold saying I was "number 1 in the queue"! Finally a woman answered with a tone of, 'what the hell are you ringing for and why have you been holding for so long!!!' before I even spoke. I told her my details and the reason for my phone call and she puts me through to my specialists secretary! Finally I feel I've got somewhere! Oh no, the phone rings twice and goes straight to an answer machine! I left my details and iv'e still not received any phone call or appointment letter! This is an absolute joke, especially for someone who can barely walk which the specialist could see because I even had crutches at the time when I visited him! I've tried ringing the Orthopaedics department again this morning and bizarrely, no answer!!

Hello, thanks for you comments. We have been having some delays in answering phone calls and new measures are being put into place to try to address this. We would appreciate further information in order to look into this in more detail - please could you call Libby Jackson on 01472 874111 ext 2468? Many thanks Sarah Mainprize
