I was admitted to B6 during my third case of severe tonsillitis in 5 months as I needed IV fluids and medication. I was seen within 2 hours in A&E and after my initial assessment admitted very quickly to B6 ward.
I was cared for initially by a clinical nurse specialist who was fantastic and an assett to the hospital, as were the rest of the nursing team. I was in for 3 days and 2 nights and cannot fault the care I received.
The staff were clearly busy but attentive and caring, both of me and all the other patients. Drugs were recieved on time, food was good, bed was comfortable, and I feel I was involved in decisions about my care. I am so grateful to everyone who made me better.
Special mention for Student Nurse Lauren who did her first two shifts while I was in and was professional and caring and an excellent example of what a good nurse is. Thanks so much to everyone.
"Thanks to the busy but caring staff of ward B6"
