In December 2008 I was taken by ambulance to Northern General Hospital as I had suffered a slight stroke. I felt unwell and called for the ambulance which arrived quickly. I received great care from the paramedics who were very kind to me. The doctors and the nurse at the hospital were great as they provided good care and kept the ward clean. The only problem was that when medication was given, all the nurses did it in different ways. Some nurses squeezed the tablets into the pots and did not touch them with their hands. But I watched other nurses and they touched the tablets with their hands before putting them into the pots. I think it must be to do with the way they are trained. I was not happy taking the tablets that they had touched with their hands. I went home from the hospital and did not want any help with carers.
