having had on 2 separate occasions MRI scans on a herniated disc. first was at the N&N with a packed waiting room and yes a wait passed my allotted time plus parking issues. when i went into the scan room on crutches the two staff explained that i could not take them near the scanner. unable to lay on my back without severe pain i cried throughout the whole scan time, they helped me roll off the bed and guided me back to my crutches then helped me back to my carer. she promised to report on my scan within a couple of days and wished me well. second scan at global. again on crutches the male tech confirmed who i was without turning towards me. had to remove my own coat and nowhere to put it, they did help me into the scanner to some degree. the earhones one over my eye and one behind my ear and in the scanner. when i was slid out the male never spoke way but left the room and left me to slide my way along the wall back to my crutches, and to pick my own coat up. then i stood in the cold wind while i waited for the ambulance to collect me and get me home. my only knowledge of global diagnostics was that it was where those with private medical insurance etc went. well if that's what you get if you pay i say yahoo for the NHS where althought it was crowded, difficult to get there i had to wait but was treated with real kindness, sympathy and helped. that is something you need when you are scared and in pain and exhausted with the exhertion and medications. would you like to go to Global diagnostics? No thank you.
