"Labour Ward - Love these very special people!"

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital

Hello I'm from Flint North Wales but chose to have my baby at the Countess, and boy am I glad I did! On the 25th October 2014 at 10:46am I gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy, and he is amazing! I got to labour ward at 8am in the morning and as soon as I walked in the door that was it my waters went, and my midwife was there! Went straight to room and not long later teh baby was here. All through labour the midwife kept me focused and we work together to get the baby out. She was exactly how I wanted and expected my midwife to be, kept me calm, focused and told me exactly what I needed to do (pushing/breathing etc.) when I needed to do it, and that's exactly what I needed becoming a first time mum and not having experienced labour before. After the birth I had complications with me, (not baby) and I had to go to theatre. The team in theatre, the doctor, the anaesthetists, and my midwifes all looked after me, the midwives did not let go of my hands, kept me calm, comfortable telling me I was going to be ok and rubbing my arm. They all basically saved my life and I will never be able to thank them enough, I love them all. After Theatre it was time for midwifes to hand over to the night shift, and my 2nd midwife was was equally amazing . The care I got through the night was unbelievable and the support they gave my husband also, who had to look after baby, and he himself had never been around babies in his life, was amazing. The midwife and my consultant through the night made me feel safe, and what I had just been through that was very important. I love them both too. This whole team looked after me for two days and two night and I had the same people over that time, they are very very special people who I will never forget. When I first came out of theatre I said to my husband I am never having another, but by night2 my mind had changed and I will be having baby number2 next year, as I know that I will be in the safest place ever, and can't wait to get back and see all the team again. Love you all and thanks to everyone that played a part in my care. I will be rebooking you all again for next year so get ready. :) xxxx
