"What a Schokker!"

About: King's Mill Hospital

Excluded at key decisions points when the consultant and department wished to railroad through their own decisions in the interests of the NHS/Social Services instead of for my father without consulting the family I cared for patients when often unattended in ward while visiting my dad - stopped a patient with a broken wrist falling. Faeces not cleaned up properly hours after any incident - under fingernails, on equipment and bed frame. Sadly a highly understaffed hospital leaving patients to vegitate with little exercise or mental relief from the disturbing disruption of more serious dementia patients 'Wall data not uptodate leading to confusion among visitors let alone elderly patients! ie nurse/carer names always wrong, huge wall date in reception often wrong Lack of understanding of policies Non-english speaking staff who cannot understand the questions you ask - "Where is a wheel chair?" blank look - no idea what a wheel chair is. Consultant with no compassion - rudely interrupted a private reintroduction with my father of someone he already knew causing a scene and extreme stress to both myself and my father. Staff on annual leave at critical points in time creating significant delays No continuity of care - a different nurse every day Inappropriate medication given causing serious side effects My dad's leg operated on is now worse than before entering hospital. He could walk to the shops now he can barely walk to the toilet!
