"Follow up with Obs/Gyn Consultant?"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

After receiving good care prior to and during my TAH with BSO. I was shocked to discover that I should have had a 6 week post op with my Ob/Gyn Consultant, which I did not have this was done by my GP. Now 7 months post op have minor complication which GP says may need to be referred back to Obs/Gyn Consultant. In future please can Consultants make sure that you give your patients full details on after care appointments, especially if they are not with the consultant and why? As I am now confused and left wondering why did I not have a follow up with my Obs/Gyn Consultant?

Dear responder

I am sorry to read of the negative experience that you have had in relation to post operative care. I will use your comments as part of our "you said we did" program. what I will do is communicate your suggestion to all consultants as a reminder of the importance to ensure patients know what should be happening next. To establish what did happen to your appointment please contact our PALS service on 01296 316042 or email them on pals@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk
