"Blood taking and keeping patients informed"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

A doctor attempted on a number of occasions to draw blood from my 82 year old wife without success. She was left crying. I took the opportunity to ask a nurse to fetch a colleague with skill in this area who arrived and took the blood painlessly at the first attempt. Throughout our stay in the hospital as out patients the same doctor left my wife repeatedly in the middle of an examination only to return a half hour or so later without explanation or apology. Not really good enough. Even when my wife had had her final procedure (an Xray) the doctor vanished again without explantation. Another doctor told us that the first doctor had gone to review the plate, but again time passed without explanation or result. I had to threaten to leave without discharge in order to get a telephone message (not in person) from the doctor saying that she could go. By the way, my wife saw two other doctors on this occasion who acted professionally and properly throughout.
