"Poor care for my mother at East Surrey hospital"

I feel if we hadn't got my mother out of that hospital she would have died there. The UTI (urinary tract infection) had made her confused - she's not normally like that, but they treated her as though she was a dementia patient.

A friend went to visit and her gown was open showing everything whilst lying on the bed - a nurse should have covered her and given her some dignity. She was down to 5 and a half stone - I feel that they didn't look after her nutritional needs, taking her food away too quickly.

I had never seen my mother so depressed and forlorn and I shall never forget her face - it haunts me!

She told me how embarrassed she was to soil herself but was then left for hours before being cleaned up - disgraceful!
