"Consistently high quality care on Lyndsey ward"

About: Biggart Hospital

(as a relative),

Mum was admitted to Ayr Hospital in January, she had an Ileostomy in April and eventually came home, She was only home around 2 weeks and was readmitted and eventually went to Biggart Hospital for rehab where she broke her hip and returned to Ayr Hospital.

Mum returned to Biggart and was admitted to Lyndsey ward, which has been the only ward where she has been treated with the due care and attention in my opinion all patients deserve. They have made such a difference to her mental and physical health. They have spent a great deal of time helping her to recover. The care of her physical needs has been second to none and consistently high quality care. You could see that all the patients were given very good care and staff took time to communicate with patients and relatives despite this being an extremely busy ward.

We often complain about poor care but do not give praise when it is due. We as a family cannot thank all the staff of Lyndsey Ward for the excellent care they provide and due to this mum is now coming home after 10 months in hospital.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Scotfi,

I am so glad your mum has come to the end of that long hospital stay. It will be great to have your mum home, I am sure she will be very excited after, all there is no place like home. It must have been very telling on the all the family too, it is not just the worry, but fitting in the visiting, the family, meal times etc...

I will certainly take great pleasure in letting the team know how highly you think of their care and pass on your thanks. It is truly good to hear when the care all round is at its best.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us,

Best wishes to you all,

Kind regards,

Eunice
