"accident and emergency respiratory unit and ward..."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

My mum was admitted to accident emergency and all staff were fabulous the specialists nurse she saw was very kind and caring. My mum went upto respiratory unit then ward 6y were she received excellent care all staff were amazing but from what i could see patients were very ill and dependent on this ward and there was not enough staff . The staff were always run of there feet and doing an excellent job . I did find my mums care plans very confusing and repetitive at times. staff always tried there best to update me when I came to visit . The staff also set up a password and were very accommodating to me working . All patients were treated with great care and respect. The matron had very visible presence on the ward which was nice . They seemed like an excellent team but my mums discharge was very rushed due to how busy they were and she received no discharge summary. I think kitchen staff however need to be a bit more friendly the food is awful but i guess its free food . The discharge suite lost my mums slippers which resulted in her leaving with just her socks on overall very happy with the care we received as a family thank you I have had some unpleasant experiences in this hospital in the past but this has really changed my opinion.
