I had an MRI today on my knee. I was quite anxious about it, as I am mildly claustrophobic and had a panic attack at another hospital the last time I attempted to have an MRI done. I alerted the staff to my concerns, and they were very understanding. They explained the procedure to me in detail, checked whether I understood or had any further questions and really put me at ease. Throughout the MRI, they explained each stage, telling me when they were about to start a scan, how long it would go for, and telling me when there would be a pause in between scans. This quickly built trust within me, giving me a sense of control over the process, and I can honestly say my anxiety had entirely vanished by the end of the second 3 minute scan. They turned what I anticipated would be a very frightening experience into an effortless one, and I am very impressed with the care I was shown.
"Excellent care at the MRI"
