"complaints in nhs"

About: AE and varias elderly wards

(as a parent/guardian),

I have frequently had to complain to NHS using their complaints procedure.

Unfortunately, I have no faith in this service for unhappy patients, patients of loved ones. Some of the things I have had to complain about have been serious, but when I have to go through A+E or wards, I am faced with the very same issues I had to complain about, so why let the public complain when we witness the exact same issues? I would have hoped maybe lessons would have been learned, as you are bringing these issues forward to relevant people. I am really starting to believe that this procedure is only there for show to make us believe our concerns are being heard. Please excuse my bluntness, but do you understand how frustrating this can be when you feel there is no one to turn to, who will take time to listen and act on the concerns you felt serious enough to complain about. When you have taken a loved one through A+E it is stressful as you are worried about your loved one on top of that stress and worry you are wound up in case you once again are faced with the exact same predicament you had to frequently had cause to complain about. I find this sad, frustrating and unnecessary if the system in the NHS took complaints seriously, it would make carers lives more bearable going through these different hospitals in Glasgow.
