On October 25 2014 I arrived at A and E at 6.30am with a recurring pelvic infection condition. I was seen within 15 minutes by Triage and then was seen and treated by different nurses/doctors. After 4 hours on A & E I was moved to the overflow observation ward as government guidelines state. There I waited to see A Gynaecology dr, I had to wait another 4 hours before she arrived. I know this is a long wait but I was obviously not the only patient waiting to be seen and at all times I had great care from the nurses and was always kept up to date and received pain relief throughout.. I was then admitted to ward 1A where I spent 2 nights. I can honestly say that "all" the nurses are fabulous, kind, sympathetic, caring and friendly at all times whether it be the day or night shift. The gynaecology drs and consultants are always kind and professional and make me feel at ease. As yet my condition is unexplained but the treatment I receive always works and I am now feeling back to normal. In 2012 I had my first experience of hospital admission at this hospital and was on ward 2 at this time and they were all fabulous too just as ward 1A. I had major surgery on a tubo ovarian abscess with complications and I must admit I got myself worked up in to quite a teary/panicy state and the staff were very patient with me and explained everything clearly and calmed me down. I cannot rate this hospital and the staff I have dealt with highly enough and would like to Thank them all very much.
"short stay on ward 1A"
