"Disgraceful treatment by X-Ray 1 and Mulberry"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital

I attended a 14.00pm emergency ultrasound appt for suspected DVT. I arrived at X-ray 1 10 mins early which is where I was told to go. They had no record of who I was or why I was there. After 30mins of dithering around they sent me to Mulberry suite who then asked me if I had had my scan. I told them X-Ray 1 had no record of me. Mulberry filled in a form, left me waiting another 20 mins before taking me back to X-Ray 1 who then ignored me until 15.20 when I made a verbal complaint to the receptionist. The scan took 10 mins. I was told to return to Mulberry to await results where I was ignored until 16.20 when I made another complaint to a passing member of staff (because there was no recetionist or anyone else on duty for that matter). I saw a doctor for five minutes who confirmed I have clogged surface veins bu not deep vein. He wanted to give a prescription for the hospital pharmacy. I did not want to wait another 30 mis in the hospital pharmacy as I know from past experience how long they take. However, they did not have any standard prescriptions forms on Mulberry which I could take to a local pharmacy. It took another 20 mins for them to find one. Eventually I left 2 hours and 40 mins after having arrived (for what I was told would take 30 mins) and £4.50 light on car parking fees. You won't find less helpful, less organised, less respectful staff anywhere except on Sorrell Suite. And don't tell me your staff were busy/overworked. Most of them were sat around X-Ray reception or stood in huddles in corridors socializing instead of working. If this is how the NHS thinks it should carry on, they should be privatized. The private sector would not tolerate this abject level of service and behaviour.
