(as the patient),

My sister called 111 from her house after I had rung her because of severe dizziness. Another sister had had similar dizziness resulting in a stroke and later died so I was very distressed. Fortunately my sister does not live far from me and she arrived at about the same time as the paramedic and was able to let him in.

The paramedic was called Dominic and he was so good! He came alone and did various tests and then called for a doctor. He stayed with me all the time. The Doctor did some more tests on me and then she gave me an injection. This was on Friday evening.

Early on Saturday morning the doctor phoned – they had decided I should have scans at the hospital and asked me to go there straightaway. They called me back on Sunday to do more scans – thankfully they have all been clear.

I’m so grateful to the NHS for all they have done – everyone has been really lovely.
