"2 Reviews need ...1 for A&E ...! for Acute Med..."

About: Royal Oldham Hospital

The staff ,consultant, nursing staff and Aux staff on AMU on the 25/10/2014 early morning were superb...they could not do enough for the patients in their care. The standard was by far better than anything I have ever experienced. A&E ...taken by paramedic at with acute chest pains at 1.00am ...left in a side room..1 nurse (very good) took initial readings ...then we were left unattended for 4 hours..eventually given Morphine for the pain and left for hours. I don't know what happened but I gather I reacted quite badly to the morphine...my daughter asked for help but no one was available and she had to help her self out of cupboards to blankets as I was going into shock....after many attempts she got a nurse to come to look who then took control and action began to be taken...after which (about 6 hours } I was sent for xray and moved to ward with Pnumonia. Maybe extra help was need that night on A&E although it didn't seem very busy.
