"23 years on he is still alive but he is not my son"

About: Forensic mental health

(as a relative),

I lost my son to drugs at the age of 18. He has been in The Wells Road Centre since 1996. He is on Porchester Ward. 23 years on he is still alive but he is not my son. Drugs kill. He tried to commit suicide more than once. I would like him to come to my flat with a member of staff and look at some old photographs. Can this be arranged?

I have passed on your request to the Porchester team for their consideration someone from the ward will contact you shortly to look at the possiblity of arranging this visit. Please let them know if they can support you with anything else. I hope that this contact will be helpful for you.
