I was admitted to Ward 5 at Wrightington Hospital after a hip replacement. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and have stiff and very sore joints.
The surgeons and anaesthetic team were absolutely wonderful but many of the nursing staff were just appallingly rude.
Despite having spent 6 years in a wheelchair, I was made to get up for night toilet visits the day after my op, despite the fact that my arms were so sore I couldn't physically lift myself to get out of the bed.
I was left lying down - even to eat - for almost the whole of the 7 dreadful days I spent in there.
"My nursing care at Wrightington left me appalled"
