About 12 years ago I got out of bed to use the toilet in the night and collapsed on the floor in excruciating pain - my back had gone into spasm. I was taken into hospital for a week until the pain was under control.
Since then I have had several episodes of not being able to walk because of my back pain and numbness in my legs.
