Today was the first time I visited this hospital as a patient and was made to feel at ease immediately upon arriving at the reception ot the stroke unit in Ward 2, I was met by a young nurse who introduced herself to my wife and myself then settled us in to the pleasant waiting room to await the doctor with whom I had the appointment. Because my referral was for a possible TIA, I was feeling somewhat stressed upon arrival but the nurse's friendliness and professionism soon put me at ease. When I was taken to the doctor, who questioned me about symptoms and explained the probable causes, she sent me for a ultrasound scan carried out by a nurse who explained what the proceedure was and how it was to carried out, again settled my aprehensions immediately. All in all, the whole experience of my visit, care treatment and the friendly attitude of everyone who attended to me was to show how, that given the understaffing of hospital services in general, that the staff I met showed a 100% dedication to their patients care and well being and I would hope that in some way my comments could be shown or conveyed to the individuals whom I have mentioned. As it turned out, the doctor informed me at the end of my visit that I had not experienced a TIA but something not so serious which can be attended to by my GP Once again, thank you for your excellent services Robert Flook
