"Unprofessional staff"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Dear all, I have no words to express my anger, disappointment and frustration. I have complained before about dr. S., consultant in rheumatology clinic (see comments below), and now, after trying to be patient & understanding, I demand a change of consultant. Also, I cannot believe someone rude, with an insolent attitude and lack of respect for other people, actually works for NHS! It's disgraceful. Where are the core principles of UHL? Are they not the core any more? Where are the consequences for that kind of unprofessional behaviour? Am I paying taxes for someone to make me cry and upset for whole day after 4 min "consultation", while with my condition I must avoid stress... The confusion, mistakes from the rh. department, lack of support & adequate treatment got me to a tipping point last year, as I ended up on antidepressants. I will not let anyone push me back in that dark place again. I will stand up for myself. I've worked in care settings for some time, for LPT NHS, every day I deal with patients with challenging behaviour, and honestly, I've never seen specialist who's not even bottered to pretend to listen (like my consultant) & I've never treated anyone with no respect for their dignity, choice and feellings. Rheumatology department looks after people with life-long problems, so the care needs to be holistic and complex. Rheumatologists are main & crucial health care professionals in our every day fight with illness, which we will never get rid off. Hope, this will help people to stand up and demand the care nhs services should provide for them. Regards, Aggie
