It's natural that people tend to leave a review when they're unhappy, rather than satisfied with a service- I'm as guilty of this as anyone else. My father is currently is being treated in the Critical / Intensive Care Unit at Charing Cross Hospital. I've spent very many hours in several hospitals, both here and in Ireland , over the past few years. Most of my experiences have been far from positive and have left me with a rather jaded view of the health service in general. I was expecting no different when Dad was admitted as an emergency on Tuesday. I would like to state publicly that never have I witnessed such wonderful care and professionalism. From the moment the paramedics arrived in an ambulance to this morning, I can say his care has been faultless. Maybe we got lucky, but I'm not just talking about a few members of staff. We're by no means out of the woods with my father's illness, in fact, prognosis isn't good. Regardless of the outcome, my opinion of the nurses, doctors, clerical staff (who even went out of their way to provide free parking) will stand. It's a travesty that this true centre of excellence is being dismantled. it's one of the few hospitals that actually *works*.
