About: St Helier Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

On Saturday the 21st of March I took my daughter to St Helier A+E as she has a rash that was not blanching, we were seen quickly, bloods were taken and we were taken to the assesement unit, I have to say how great this service is, our daughter, who is nealry 3, was put at ease by the wonderful nurse, she was given lunch and made to feel at home. This made the whole experience so much better for her, if we had been left in a side room in A+E for the 7 hours it would have been more distressing for us both. They also did a throat swab, thank goodness they did do this, we got a call on wed eve advising us that she had the meningitus bug in her throat, we were called back and antibiotics were started straight away, we have had home visits for the rest of the period. Thank you very much for loking after our daughter so well. The home visit team have also been great.

Anything else?

keep the assessment unit open at the weekends too aswell as midweek please

I am glad to read that your daughter is okay following her recent visit to A and E and the assessment unit. The staff are aware of how anxious it can be for parents at this time. I am pleased that you and your daughter felt reassured and supported by the staff and the home visiting team.

I will forward your kind comments onto them. Please send on our best wishes to your daughter.
