"Late second cancellation"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

My son has just had his operation cancelled for the second time at very short notice ie the day before at 2pm. This time there is no bed available. Despite trying to get in touch with the department responsible by telephone, I was given the run around for an hour. I finally got the promise of a call back from the service manager but this has not happened yet and I am not holding my breath. This has caused trouble and inconvenience and a lot of mental stress. My husband and I have had to use up the rest of our holiday allocation so that we could accompany our son to the hospital and be there for him afterwards.When the operation is rearranged we will not be able to be there for him, I am really quite tearful. My son turned down a job offer because he was going to be in hospital. My sister had to rearrange court sittings in order to look after my daughter . I am very very upset and do not have faith in the hospital keeping its word next time.

Dear Anon

Sorry for taking a while to post our repsonse back. Can I please ask for you to contact me directly so I can take some further details and escalate the matter quickly and get you a resolution. If the service manager has contacted you, please do still contact me as I would still like to escalate it to the senior managers within that specialty so they are aware of the distress and inconvenience they have caused all of you by cancelling your son's operation twice.
