"Lack of information"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I attended this morning with an eye injury after being referred from Gosport minor injuries. I was very well treated. I was given a prescription for antibiotics and eye drops. However I was not told and I did not see any signage that prescriptions have to be given to the hospital pharmacy. Once back in Lee on Solent I went to my local chemist only to be told that they cannot issue the medication as it must be done by the hospital pharmacy. I had to take a day of work today and cannot repeat that. Therefore I will now be self medicating as best I can. How any others end up self medicating because of the lack of information? I am sure it is self evident to staff at QA but it is not to the general public.

Thank you for taking the time to write in and share your feedback with us. We are pleased you felt you were well treated. Please be assured that we will of course pass your comments on regarding the breakdown in communication surrounding your medication prescription.
