In June or July of this year I sent an email entitled "Why are we waiting". I explained that my husband Malcolm was told by the consultant in February 2014 that he needed a triple heart bypass which would be done within six to eight weeks. Malcolm had his pre op assessment on 28th April,,so we assumed that surgery would take place within two to three weeks. Nothing happened. I emailed in June/July and received a phone call saying that they were trying to get Malcolm into hospital that week for surgery on the Saturday. Again, that didn't happen, but he was assured that as he was at the top of the list, it would only be a couple of weeks before he was admitted for surgery anyway. Here we are and it is 14th October and we haven't heard a thing from the Freeman. It is now 8 months since the appt with the consultant, 6 monrhs since his pre op assessment and 3 months since he was told it would only be another 2 weeks to wait. I know that emergencies take precedence over everyone else, and rightly so, but heart transplants and emergencies don't happen every day for 8 months. Maybe Malcolm has been overlooked so he will become an emergency!
"Why are we still waiting after 8 months?"
