"Fantastic support from a nurse"

About: Kidderminster Treatment Centre - Acute Trust / Breast surgery

(as the patient),

I went to my consultation appointment and found out that I have breast cancer. I was told to get my bloods done straight after I found out.

I was called by Iqra the nurse who was so welcoming to talk to. She asked me how I was and she knew something was wrong as I didn't say a word. She sat me down and she drew the curtains and just sobbed for about 20 minutes. I felt so comfortable talking to her and telling everything that I knew that my husband didn't even know who was waiting outside in the waiting room. She paid the best attention to me as she managed my situation so well. I knew it wouldn't get better and she didn't give me false hope, so I was so glad that she was their for me. She went beyond her job role and listened, gave me tissues and water. She was so great that I couldn't thank her enough. I gave her box of chocolates to thank her. She was wonderful.

Every time I go to get my bloods done, other patients in the waiting room always say she is so wonderful, that she brightens their day for them with her smile and that she is so good at her job. She is a brilliant lady who everyone praises her. She is professional, efficient, and great service given and a joy to talk to. I always ask for Iqra in the blood test department at Kidderminster Hospital.
