"I didn't receive a return call"

(as the patient),

I needed to call 111 when I was feeling unwell and my GP surgery was not available. The first person who answered my call asked a lot of questions, this was followed by another person asking me a lot of questions. This time, however, I was told that someone would call be back – however I did not get a call back.

A couple of days later I went to see my GP, through that appointment it was established that the symptoms I had when I called 111 were down to the blood pressure tablets I was taking.

I should have had a call back, it could have been a serious issue. Having told someone they would receive a call, this should have been followed through, I had given them both my land line and mobile phone number.
