"Everyone we met was amazingly compassionate"

My granda had a stroke and was taken to A&E in Wishaw early hours in late August 2014. It was really busy, and took a while to get a bed, however everyone we met, the porter and all the nurses and doctors and the priest were amazingly compassionate and took a lot of time (that I am sure they were pushed for) to care for us - we are a large family and they were tripping over us, but never once were we made to feel in the way - quite the opposite. The room we were provided for tea and coffee etc was spotless, as was every area of the hospital that I was in that day.

When my granda was moved to the next ward he was in from late August and sadly he died a couple of days later, he was in two wards after A&E, the 2nd one he was in the nursing staff were 2nd to none, he had started to rally from his stroke and everyone was very focused in switching from palitative care as soon as he started showing signs of making a recovery.

Unfortunately my Granda deteriorated on the Sunday, and he was in such a state that his passing, although very sad and hard to bear for the family, seemed like a blessing at the time that he was released from his suffering. I just want the feedback to go to the hospital, as he was looked after with the utmost respect for his dignity. Thank you.
